The Village of Northport Department of Public Works (DPW) is dedicated to maintaining the infrastructure and essential services that keep our community safe, clean, and running smoothly year-round.

Our DPW team is responsible for maintaining village streets and sidewalks, snow and ice removal, water and sewer system operations, stormwater management, park maintenance, and public facilities upkeep. Through routine maintenance, timely repairs, and long-term planning, the department works to preserve the quality and reliability of the Village’s infrastructure.

Whether clearing streets after a winter storm, maintaining our parks and public spaces, or responding to service needs, the DPW plays a vital role in supporting residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

DPW Superintendent

Chris Holton oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and long-term planning of the Village’s infrastructure and public facilities.

Chris coordinates street maintenance, snow and ice removal, water and sewer system operations, park upkeep, and public works projects. He works closely with Village administration and staff to ensure services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in compliance with state and local regulations.

Senior Water Operator

Dave is a key member of the Department of Public Works team. In this role, he oversees the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Village’s water system, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and delivering safe, reliable drinking water to the community. In his role, he assists with street and sidewalk maintenance, snow and ice removal, water and sewer system operations.

Dave holds a D3 certification in Water Treatment and an S4 certification in Water Distribution. He has served the Village of Northport since 2002.

Water Operator

Josh helps oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Village’s water system to ensure safe, reliable drinking water for the community. He also assists with street maintenance, snow removal, and general public works responsibilities throughout the year. His work supports the essential infrastructure that keeps the Village operating efficiently and protects public health and safety.

Josh holds a D4 certification in Water Treatment and an S4 certification in Water Distribution.

Brad oversees summer parks maintenance, landscaping, and the care of the Village’s gardens and flower boxes. His work plays an important role in maintaining the beauty and welcoming appearance of Northport throughout the warmer months.

From planting and maintaining seasonal flowers to tending public green spaces and landscaped areas, Brad helps ensure the Village’s parks, streetscapes, and gathering places remain vibrant, clean, and inviting for residents and visitors alike.
